  1. you actually don't need a program at all....either go to word pad or just notepad will do just type your letter and if you need to change the font just got to in notepad, got to format and then font, and you know the rest, but u can't change the color.

In word pad you can change the color and the font in the toolbar right above where you type it. Then click file and look for print then just click away....you can change how many pages, at the place where it says number of copies. now the rest is up to you

  2. if you can log on the net and use yahoo answers, i am sure you should know how to use MS Word which was accessible to millions before the internet was ever thought about to reach every home

  3. Since you didn't say, I assume you're working on Windows, any version.

Find Notepad in Start - Programs - Accessories

Notepad is a simple text editor, but you have to be careful at print time.  Make sure you go to page setup and delete the stuff it will put in the header and footer or it will mess up the print.

You can also use WordPad which has a nicer interface and doesn't mess up your prints automatically.  It's found usually next to Notepad in the Accessories list.

Both of these come "free" with the purchase of Windows.

If you need something more fancy like a presentation or a spreadsheet, and don't want to buy Microsoft Office, try OpenOffice.org, it's free and very useful.  It's a big download, but it pays for itself in features.
