I can land the double salchow and toe loop but with this double loop, I just dont know what the problem is! I really need help. I don't know if I get scared with my teacher or what it is. If u have advice plz answer asap!

  1. That's a great exercise suggestion pinkskater!! I'll go do it the next time I go skating if my right ankle can stand the extra pounding (it sure hurt me today though ^^').

I really can't say for myself how to make a double magically work when you need it to. Some days I land them, some days  don't.

Maybe you're having the same problem I had today where I felt like my back was being dragged and I couldn't rotate the jump straight and so I landed it sloppy. Dunno, I just tried out a Double Loop today so I'm not used to the feel yet (yet I dd the same for the Lutz and it felt great. Strange).

  2. make believe your coach isnt there and just do what u felt when u landed it. WHen u land it try 2 remember the position of how u enetered it cuz mayb u r twistin or tryin 2 hard 2 get in2 the jump in front of ur coach or it cud just b nerves

  3. I get that sometimes too!

I tend to just over think it when I have to show a new jump to a coach. Just try clearing your mind and forget that your coach is watching.

Or try making it more consistent on your own before showing others.

Have someone video tape it for you, do you can see exactly what you're doing, or to show your coach that you can actually do it

  4. My coach just gave me a good exercise for working on double loops...well, all doubles too, I guess.  Go into a back spin and hold the open position.  As you pull into the spin, jump straight up, trying to get in two full rotations, so that you will hopefully land back in your back spin.

Don't worry!  As I'm sure you already know, jumps take a lot of practice and repetitions to get the muscle memory down to get them consistent.  I would just keep doing them over and over.  They will come, just like your single jumps and other doubles did.  Good luck!  :)

  5. Just keep practicing it, you'll eventually get it =)
