Become a criminal. That organisation is full of them and unless you can think like a criminal you don't stand a chance.

Its a tough road.  But, it depends on what you are looking for.  Do you want to have an actual job or do you want to work as a volunteer?  There are two different paths with these and you will have much better success working as a volunteer (because it is really hard to get an actual job with the UN).

You may try this website http://www.un.org/english/ and go to the employment section.  See what they have available.  Also, you may want to check out the Peace Corps.  They do similar work as well.  And, since you are a student, check and see if your school has a Model United Nations Program established and try to join if they do.  I know that during my college days, it helped me to get a lot of contacts in the actual UN organization as you get to meet dignitaries and officials when you travel to NY.  If all else fails, you can also try to work with other international organizations that do humanitarian work, such as CARE International, the Carter Center.

I agree with Open your eyes, if you have something to contribute towards population reduction, police state, new world order etc you have a solid chance but if you are truly wanting to help underpriviledged children your best bet is to probably find a volunteer group who has nothing to do with most international orgs especially the UN.  

The UN is probably one of the top problems facing poor regions of the world, the goal is to create a servant populations.
