I have been playing for the past 6 years and im ok at football. I have just stopped having fun cause its getting old. I am going to play this year and see if I play at all. I don't think I will cause we have a really good team. I play WR and LB. There is almost 14 WR players, and the starters are 6'4!

I think its stupid that I play LB because im only 5'6 and weigh 135 lbs. I am the smallest and almost weakest on the LB position. I lift about 75 lbs. which isn't HORRIBLE for a freshman. Do you think I should quit next year if I don't play this year or stick it out all 4 years. Plus, alot of people may think im a quitter if I do(classmates and coaches).

  1. Well there is probably a freshmen team the 6'4 wide receiver probably plays varsity so it wouldnt effect u. And in freshmen and JV they try to play everyone so i think u will play some.

  2. If you keep playing I CAN'T promise you it will get better but if you do quit I CAN promise you you'll never know.  You have to ask yourself why you play football.  Then you have to weigh that answer against your level of patience.  On top of all of that, you still have to factor in peripheral bullshite...parents want to see you play, teammates and coaches calling you a quitter, boning cheerleaders.

    Good luck!

  3. I don't think you should quit, talk to the coach, you sound more like a safety to me. You would probably enjoy football more if you were at a position that actually fit your body type.
