I will have already gone through customs. I am traveling by myself so I am nervous about being safe and knowing what to do.

  1. The cab ride will be roughly $360.00   You would be safer staying in the Hilton Hotel at the airport for the night, then taking a train in the morning.

The train leaves from the airport, right next to the hotel.  It will take you to downtown Rome, where you can catch another train for a 50 minute ride to Orvieto.

  2. dont even worry! if ur really pretty and worry about getting harased...just mess up ur hair and take off ur makeup so noone looks at u and they'll leave u alone

  3. If you want to go directly from the airport to Orvieto, your best bet is by car. Having your friends meet you in Rome wouldn't be a bad idea, if possible. You can get a cab, but it will be very expensive. You can also consider getting a room for the night when you arrive - there's a Hilton at the airport, but there are cheaper options not far from the airport. http://en.venere.com/hotels_rome/airport...

If you arriving at Fiumicino (Leonardo da Vinci), there's a night bus at 1:15 am that goes to Roma Termini train station, but that's not the best area to be in at that time of night.  The last train from the airport to Roma Termini is at 11:36 pm (before you arrive). The first train in the morning from Roma Termini is at 6:07 am. Train schedules and prices: http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html

If you're arriving at Ciampino, there's a bus at 0:15 am to Roma Termini. If you're on one of the budget airlines, there should be a Terravision bus connecting with the flight: http://www.terravision.eu/rome_ciampino.... However, this again puts you at Roma Termini after the last train to Orvieto.

  4. Rent a car or get a cab

  5. do it!

  6. If friends can't pick you up the ONLY thing to do is get a legitimate cab....Don't even think about public transit alone at that time of night......Your safety is first, the convenience is 2nd.The money, forget about ! Save some extra bucks just for that cab ride, you won't be sorry........Oh, I can only guess but I'd say $125-$150 for the cab ride.??...Get some Euros here in the states before you go, you'll have enough to think about when you get off the plane without doing that.
