If you mean the generic icon you have on display in you Yahoo! Answers right now: that's correct! You can't change the gender.

In order for your icon to depict your gender, create an avatar or use a picture.

To create an avatar, go to http://avatars.yahoo.com/ and follow the on line instructions.

If you want to use a picture, follow the steps below:

Put the picture you want to use as your primary profile picture in Yahoo! 360:

1. My Page > Edit Personal Photos

2. upload your picture (click on "Browse" and select the picture you want to use)

3. check "Set as primary" next to your picture

4. click "Save" to finish

Next adjust your profile in Yahoo! Answers to use your 360 picture. In Yahoo! Answers:

1. click on "My Profile"

2. click on "Edit My Profile"

3. in the picture setting, select "Use my Yahoo! 360 Picture"

4. click "Preview"

5. click "OK"

That's it, really!

If at first your picture doesn't show up, don't panic. A slight delay is one of the known issues with updating the pictures.

1- go to your mail home page

2- click on option (top right)

3- click on account information (left)

4- click on edit (below the membership information)

now you can change your avatar

when you did your avatar it said that you needed to chose the gender and that (i think) it couldn't be changed. I might be wrong, but no body's a genius!

click on my profile then edit my info there you can view an avatar option.........just under that you can view <edit my avatar> just click and edit according to your gender.
