in my laundry room. I have shelves over my washer/dryer area, but I would like to do something creative to make it look really neat, tidy and appealing to be in there, it is about 8ft x 8 ft. Any ideas????????

  1. Use glass jar to organize and little things you might have lying around in there like twist ties, rubber bands, push pins, nails, etc. If you use the same type of jar in different sizes displayed on the shelves, it adds a uniform, organized look to the space. Also works very well in exposed kitchen shelves to organize pasta, beans, rice, etc. Any other items you have in there could be put in woven baskets. Woven laundry hampers also look a lot nicer than plastic baskets. Other than organization, you might employ the same decorating tactics you would in any other room. It might be time for a fresh coat of paint in a light, sunny color like warm cream or yellow. Or you could paint the trim in a bright blue or coral to liven it up a little. You could put up photos or pictures on the walls that you don't have up in the rest of your house. Or put up a bulletin board or magnet board and display the pictures you don't have room for or interesting articles of pictures from magazines. Good luck!

  2. Thats a great question and I am going through the same thing. I was thinking of doing a light blue for the walls and brown for my shelves/cabinets. Using really clean lines and fabrics for my curtains. Hope this helps, by the way I live in the Ozarks to!!!
