Question:

I am a group owner.?

I want to step down from being the owner and give it to someone else. Is it safe to do this or should I notify all members and then delete the group? If I turn it over to someone else and something goes wrong within the group, can I be held responsible for anything once I am no longer owner?

  1. No, don't delete the group!!  First, designate another person as "owner" of the group.  Follow the instructions through "Edit Membership" of the chosen individual, ok?

This will allow you to give up your rights as Owner.  You can then choose to become a Moderator (yourself), or be a regular member, ok?

Don't delete the group though.  After you do this, THEN tell your group of the changes.  ;^)

  2. yahoo doesn't keep records of who was an owner, they only care about who the current owner is. once you're not the owner, you're not held responsible. it is perfectly ok to transfer ownership to another

How do I remove myself as a group moderator/owner? How do I make somebody else the group owner?
