wats the procedure for changing her nationality to indian so tht i can apply for her dependent visa for her to come with me to UK for stay as i am on a work permit?

You as an Indian Citizen can marry her in a foreign country according to the Foreign Marriage Act, 1969 or in India under the Special Marriage Act, 1954. These both are civil form of marriage applicable to Indian Citizen & foreigner. The Marriage Certificate you get from the Marriage Officer after the registration of this marriage is valid document for her spousal immigration/visa to accompany you. As far getting her the Indian Citizenship you have to wait for seven years as THE CITIZENSHIP ACT, 1955, clearly provides that for such application for Indian Citizenship on the basis of marriage of a foreigner with an Indian Citizen, however on the basis of her marriage with you she can apply for person of Indian card (PIO card). This PIO card she can apply on the basis of the valid marriage certificate I have mentioned above & proof of your Passport being an Indian. This PIO card can be applied either in India or in any foreign country at Indian Embassy/High Commission. This PIO card gives her right to continued stay with you as your wife in India & no further visa will be required for this, after seven years of your marriage she can apply for Indian Citizenship & can get it. As she belongs to Mauritius a friendly nation & a country that does not included in the ban countries for the purpose of providing PIO card to citizens of those countries her PIO card application will succeed & she will get this privilege by the Indian government.
