Being a long distance one mile runner during track & field season can be frustrating not only because of the lack of respect, but breaking your time/PRing. I am a freshman in high school, what can I do, to go sub5 by my sophomore year??? (I currently run a 5:10) ....i am a boy

  1. training and dedication. run throughout summer just doing runs of 30-60 minutes at a pace that is easy for you. as the summer progresses and you get stronger and more endurance you will be able to go faster and handle more miles. then you should do cross-country in the fall which will help you out a lot. as long as you keep working hard you should be able to easily be under 5 at the beginning of sophomore year.
