I am a moderator for a yahoo group. How do we make the group private? Right now all messages can be viewed.?

To make your group Restricted (You approve all requests for membership)  - this would be the same as "private":

Sign in to Group.

Go to Management>Group Settings>Membership

Underneath "Membership Type and Welcome Message",  click "Edit" located to the right of Membership Type.

Then select Restricted.

Click "Save Changes".

To make you messages only viewable by members:

Sign in to the group.

Click on Management

Under Group Settings, click Messages.

Click on Edit located to the right of Posting and Archives.

Under Archive Options, select Members.

Click on Save Changes.
