So what is the basic procedure to accept new pending members if one is a moderator, but not an owner of the list. I really should be able to do this?

  1. If the owner gave you the privilege to approve the messages sent to your group follow the instructions on the following link to approve them.

    http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/groups/...

  2. Moderators usually only approve or delete messages.  However, owners have the power to accept pending members and they can also give moderators this power.  If you can't approve pending members, ask the owner for the permission to do this.

  3. I have no clue, but find the question interesting.  You mean Yahoo actually screens people around here like it's a club membership ???

Obviously, the checklist for 'approval' is a short one.

    Just joking - sorta

  4. there are 9 priviledges an owner can give a moderator- and you can view what yours are by going to members list- click moderator tab at top- click edit membership below your ID- scroll to bottom- green you can, red you cant-

you'll need to speak to te owner- they decide. moderator priviledges are not deafult.

  5. when you open your group page look at the menu on the left, under MEMBERS   "Pending" will be highlighted in red.
