  1. turn up hill, plow, and realize you will get used to the speed little by little

  2. Yes.  Learn to control your edges and then make lots of big looping turns so you go across the hill more than down it.

  3. The bases of boards are usually waxed, which helps you go faster, get a base cleaner that will take out the wax or ride it some more until the wax is used up.

  4. stop being a p*ussy it's not ur board unless u waxed the ***** out of it. Try an easier hill then work your way up.

  5. i doubt its the board that is too fast its probably you thinking its too fast but after you get better youll want it to go faster so just carve more often to slow down

  6. do more turn, not quick ones

  7. Try to make your turns shorter so that you spend less time down the fall-line of the hill.  It is hard to describe how to do this without seeing what your turns look like as they are.

Don't strip the wax off your board:  this is very bad advice.  An unwaxed board is harder to turn.   You also don't have to turn your board uphill.  While a good way to bleed off speed in a pinch, it doesn't teach you how to control your board. If I want,  I can go down the steepest slope at my resort with not much more speed that a beginner hill... it is all in technique.

If you can't control your speed, take a lesson from a certified instructor.  They can teach you the techniques required to manage your speed.

  8. Learn how to use your edges to control your speed.
