So I was thinking of heading out at 6:00, and I was wondering what temperatures are considered to be safe to surf w/out a wetsuit.. I don't know how to read surf line, or surf report.. should I just head out into the water and go for it?

  1. Generally if the water temp is 65 or below I would consider a wetsuit. It also depends how much fat you have.

If you are surfing in the early mornings, the AIR temp is iust as important.  If the water is warm but the air temp is cold you may be uncomfortable.

Some people can endure the cold air temp early in the morning and wait for the sun to come out later. I would rather be comfortable and wear a wetsuit early and don't mind being a little toasty later.

I'd rather the water and air temp be just right if I'm not going to wear a wetsuit. I always bring my wetsuit anyway.

  2. depends on where youre surfing. if you are surfing in california, you probably want a wet suit. but i cant tell you good info if you dont tell where youre surfing

  3. If you are a beginner and  the water is under 65-60F you will want a wetsuit.

  4. wet suits are for coldish to freezing (not ice) water, if you are surfing at 6:00 i recon it would be pretty cold so if i were you i would wear a wetsuit, it'll keep you warm all day. If you live near the beach  go and have a look first but if you dont, check the weather report and look at the winds and stuff. If you are luck you can google (wherever you surf) surf report . You will have fun no matter what size the swell is, unless it is dead flat, but that is very unlikely if you are going to a surf beach.

  5. Depends On Where Your At.

  6. Here's Surfline for LA:

    http://www.surfline.com/surf-report/coun...

The tide chart is to the left underneath the camera. Best time to go is mid tide. Get familiar with this site, it's a great source of information.

  7. if you cant read surfline or a surf report---stay home.

  8. There is no possible way to give you a legitimate answer if we don't know where you are surfing. Alaska? Brazil? Redondo Beach? Also, by the time you get these answers, tomorrow will have come and gone.

  9. where are you first if your in the usa i cant help ya
