i am a permanent resident of usa, but graduated in a foreign school, what exam do i need to take to be able to work here?

Chinnook is right...your green card allows you to work here.  However, if you have a degree or certificate from a foreign school in a specific line of work, sometimes you must take additional courses in the U.S. or take an exam to be able to work in your field in the U.S.  You could call or visit a business that hires people in your field and ask if you need additional courses or to take an exam in the U.S.  For instance, teachers and nurses who studied in foreign countries must take additional courses and take a state exam in the U.S.  Depends on what subject your degree is in.


  2. If you are a permanent resident here ~ don't you already have your green card and can work already?

    If you are trying to get a specific job, the best thing to do would be to call a local University and find out what types of course/exams are needed for that particular job.
