I would love to incorporate handprints or footprints along with a poem on something like a claypot, apron, kitchen towel, etc.

  1. When i was in pre-k  we made hearts and painted them for our mothers and like homemade valentines and the moms loved it

  2. no i got a better idea, Have them all bring in a shoe box, an empty one, And you decorate it up with construction paper , you will need construction paper to cover the box, then cut out tiny hearts or flowers and glue all the decorations around tye box, they also can use crayons, then inside the the box, you will provide each box for each parent there favorite bag of candy, So when they open the box their favorite bag of candy will be in the box, I still have mine after 18 years, you see my child is now 21, and i still have that box, and every year after that class He always put 1 bag of candy in it every year, Maybe Brachs candy would be cheap, you know those tiny bags medium size, all kinds you can get, And or have each child donate one dollor towards the candy, and the school will pick up the rest, And have the child pick what the parent would like that makes it more personal, and they woulde feel very important

  4. Even ten little fingers can't count

the way I love you with all of my heart

    Happy Valentine's day

put both handprints on two separate sheets of paper. The first page has little hearts that they color and the last sheet has their picture on it - then staple it together like a book - very cute.

  5. http://familyfun.go.com/ or the

Handprint Heart and Valentine Poem is really cute on this website http://www.preschool-learning-and-crafts...

  6. You could do handprints on a canvas tote bag.  My son's preschool teacher did that and it was so cute!  If it's a religious preschool, you could use Bible verses like, "God is love"  "Love one Another" etc.

Making the magnets on this page would be fun for the kids:

  7. Just use your imagination and keep it simple.

Parents love anything handmade. If its useful - like a clay pot or kitchen towel - all the better!!!

  8. These are some links to some really cute craft ideas that preschoolers can probably make:

  9. We have a four page booklet that we make - the first has a poem - Even 10 little fingers can't count - the way I love you with all of my heart.  There are heart shapes all over that they can color and a space to write their name.  The second and third page are their handprints. The fourth page has a picture of the child holding a heart and it just says "Happy Valentine's Day" with the date.  (don't forget the date!)  We put each page on a piece of construction paper, staple it together and send it home. Parents love it!

  10. when i was in preschool we made a card but painted our feet and put our foot prints on it then wrote a poem about love and hearing the pitter-patter of our litlle feet. We then decorated it with lace, and glitter.

(you could also put their hand prints on it too)

  11. Pictures say a thousand words... I am a huge fan of pictures of the children, especially with holiday gifts and crafts.  You can use iron-on transfers (which print from your printer onto a piece of a paper then you iron it onto a fabric surface) or even simply have the children draw a picture of themselves or their family if they can do so.

My favorite poem (and I confess, I love it so much I probably over use it!):

    Sometimes you get discouraged

    Because I am so small

    And always leave my fingerprints

    On furniture and walls

But every day I'm growing --

    I'll be grown some day

    And all those tiny handprints

    Will surely fade away

    So here's a little handprint

    Just so you can recall

    Exactly how my fingers looked

    When I was very small

    Good luck!!
