  1. OK guys (JonBovi and Marilyn A) a DEA is a Domestic Energy Assessor.  The clue is the category it has been posted in.

I know what you mean about the work.  There are a few ways that will help you ramp up your earnings:

    1) Link up with the estate agents - they will take a cut, but some organise the whole HIP and you contribute your part

    2) Join an umbrella organisation that provides HIPs - they take on all the overheads and charge one bill to the customer.  It's also simpler for taxation, as otherwise one of you has to bill the customer and then explain to HMRC why you shouldn't be taxed on the invoice totals.

    3) Set up a small HIP practice with a few colleagues.  You will need a bit of redundancy (i.e. more than one of you can do a particular service) in case someone is ill.  One of you should be prepared to do the "setting up ltd company" legwork.

    4) Get trained in all other aspects of HIP and offer the whole service (this will take you time and money).

That's the order I'd try them in.  Remember some estate agents will have a very high representation in your area so go for those guys first.

  2. Hang on while I get my head out of the sand.... what's a DEA? And as I don't know what a DEA is perhaps the job centre can help you.

Dedicated Entertainment Artist, naw....... Dead End Associate, naw.... Dreamy East Asian, naw..... Dental Etching Artichoke, nope .... Doctor of Ear Aches .  I give up.

  3. What country are you in? Do you have/what is your degree/how long since you have graduated? Will your background check be clean? Where have you applied?

There is work, you just have to apply at various organizations. Need more info. I am majoring in criminal justice. There will always be crime, so there are/will always be jobs in this field.

Edit - Jon Bovine - DEA is drug enforcement you nerd.
