the problem with giving an animal side "absolute" control is that it *is* an animal. There is no conscience, no morals, no true thought processes. You are very likely to not like the results of doing so.

I was recently reading about the difference between a beserker or a shapeshifter and the beserker loses themselves.  Having control shows wisdom and balance.  Now letting the lion have control to do what the lion wants to do when you need the lions strength, reflexes and instincts seems to be a better route than just letting it go and hope for the best.  Of course both will take practice.  Trying it out in the astral is an option.  Blessed be.
