  1. Go to your county's assessors website.  You can search records by address or owners name.

  2. Nope...that is private financial information (payment history) and you cannot get that information on ANYONE'S account.

However, full foreclosure is public information.  Call the courthouse and see if a lis pendens has been filed against the property...if it has, then you are on your way to moving out.

PS:  Don't get wrapped up in where the landlord is spending the money each month...remember, you would have to pay some kind of rent anywhere that you live and what he does with the money is really none of your business.  Even if you sued, you wouldn't get that back b/c the court would say just that.  Your only concern is if he is in danger of foreclosure b/c in states like mine, you won't always get a 30-day notice to move out.

  3. You can go to the county Tax office and find out the lending institution holding the mortgage .. contact them .

Also; the tax office willl also tell you if the landlord is current with the taxes ...

  4. go to the county courthouse--  they should have the deed on file in the land records  ( some states have a website, but not all) that wont tell you if he's behind though, it will only tell if some legal action has been filed--  he could not pay his mortgage for several months before any actual legal filings are recorded--  again it all depends on the state your in, plus he may not even have a mortgage on the property-  if he is behind in taxes or water/ sewer or tax liens have been placed on the property, thats a good sign he's in trouble

  5. Yes, you can go to the local assessors office and ask if the taxes are current.

Re: the mortgage, you can go to the register of deeds office and check if there is a filing for a default on the mortgage.

These things will have to be done very often, if you want to stay current and up to date.

  6. County recorder - look for notice of default.
