Is there a waiting period for new residents before they can purchase a shotgun?

    Long guns do not have to be bought in your state of residence so there should be no condition of establishing residence before buying one

    Your ID address does have to match the form 4473 though

    Generally, in most states there is no waiting period on long arms just the NICS check after you fill out the 4473..

I think there is no waiting period here in Nevada, the NICS background check should be instant (though they charge a $25 fee for it).  The Big O' 5 Sporting Goods shops in Vegas currently have sales going on: The Remington Model 870 Express is $299 and a couple varieties of Mossberg 12 gauge pumps are available for $249.99.

    Actually, if you don't already own a gun, there might be a 3-day hold at the store, you can check for sure when you go to buy one.


  4. Generally no. If you are living in Clark county it will have to be registered. The waiting period is usually for handguns. But they don't do waiting periods.

  5. There is no waiting period for rifles or shotguns in Nevada.
