  1. Mate, as we all know rugby is 70% fitness. Improve your speed needs balistic movements, build those legs  hips and back. Squat and squat somemore. Plyometrics and core strength. And eat and drink water. Loads of exercises to enhance but you need the raw dogged basics and then refine.

  2. Go to your local athletics club and ask the sprint coach for help. Technique is so important in running.

  3. try repeating sprints over short distances such as 40m, Also consider investing in a resistance parachute; they look a little groovy but they give the best results!

  4. Try running ladders and getting a running parachute they look weird but they really help! Also sprints help to work the legs. Plus run the Tread Mill in the winter. I did that last year and I cut off 14 seconds of run time.

  5. great footballers of the last century have ran with very heavy boots. Then afterwards, when they're playing a match, they are used to playing with heavy boots so they run in lighter boots.
