  1. try tomato juice or a concord type wine or grape juice might help.

  2. Go vegetarian, or at least pescatarian.

  3. Well, all Sanguinarians can develop Psi abilities also. I don't know if you know of Psi Vampires? They are vampires that feed off of energy.

It would do you good to develop Psi abilities to recieve the energy that you need when you cannot get blood. Look up "Psi Vampire Feeding" on Google for ways to develop your abilities.

Sure, there are certain foods that will take away the blood lust for a while, but they don't give you any of the energy you need. If you can't recieve human blood regularly, you will begin to feel very sick.

  4. Here is a list of blood alternatives and why they might work for you.

Salty Foods: Many vampires find that Salty foods/ salt have a similar taste to the after taste in that of blood. Pringles, Lays, a salty fish dish, Fruit with salt (limes or lemons, this goes for sour foods as well).

Spicy Foods: However Many vampires are indifferent on this method. Foods such Salsa, Peppers, etc. are some examples of those that help.

Sour Foods: Many have said hat sour foods/candies help. Many vampires buy candy drops (lemon, grape, and cherry heads). Those seem to work the best and can basically be sucked on like a cough drop and are very discreet.

(Note: The three first methods are an Either/Or kind of thing. Meaning they are all different for different people it’s best to try them out see which works better for you)

Gatorade / Poweraid: Because the ingredients in these drinks are made to help athletes with energy, vampires all over have found this as great stuff to suppress their cravings.

Hot/Cold Drinks: Drinks in general have been known to help because it’s more of a Thirst thing, over hunger when a sanguine needs to feed. Vampires have been known to use this method as an either/ or type thing.

Ketchup: by this is basically more or less french-fries and ketchup or ketchup packets. Eating straight ketchup packets tastes somewhat the same as blood (and it’s the yummy red color :P). Ketchup has the same coppery taste to that of blood.

Tomato Soup: Similar to ketchup but more or less a bit thicker in consistency thick drinks and have a tendency to work a bit better because they tend coat the stomach and throat more.

V8 Carrot/Tomato Juice: Both work rather well, again are both rather thick drinks and have the coppery taste of blood.

Chocolate: Milk, Dark, and Plain all seem to have great effect on keeping cravings down. For some people chocolate is a stimulant and makes them "Beast Out" which can make matters worse. So this is an either/ or thing as well.

Milk: Is a great thick drink, and good for the bones as well :P. Can be great in times of need, and is a simple drink that can be found almost everywhere.

Table Salt: I recently found out a sanguine friend of mind carries a vial of table salt with her, and either eats a bit plain or puts it on whatever she’s eating. Because salt creates a similar after taste to that of blood.

Raw Veggies: Mainly carrots, this seems to work for people but many are unsure why (same as chocolate). I find salads with salty /thick dressings have worked quite well also.

Pennies: Or more or less sucking on pennies. Side note on this on, find the most recent year of penny you can find and sterilize it as MUCH as possible. Money can be one of the most dirty things for a person to touch and could possibly even spread harmful germs from person to person, and for God’s sakes, don't swallow the penny. As for why this works, blood has a coppery taste, and pennies are made of copper so, well I think you can put two and two together.

Rare Steak: Please be extra careful when dealing with rare steaks. Though not as bad as raw pork and chicken, steak can be eaten rare but may still carry disease. My suggestion is that you cook it at least too being rare or even medium rare before eating it. However you know your own limits and whatever you feel best is probably best.

Caffeine: Again this is another that varies from person to person. Some vampires find that soda heavy on caffeine helps keep their energy up when others find that it causes them to crash even harder that before (crave much more than to begin with).
