He is now incarcerated as he was tried as an adult. I won't bore anyone with the details but was wondering if anyone could

suggest a way that I could get a free speech recognition program (where you could talk into a device and then print what you said maybe a software program...I've done searches and have hit a dead end) so I

could communicate with him frequently...he needs so much encouragement and even though I write and visit (he lives a long way away) as often as I can,I'm soooo busy with his two brothers , job, lawyer bills, life.... I would appreciate any suggestions anyone might have

  1. No it isn't free, the best you could probaly do is maybe shoot a email to one of the companies and explain your situation. If you are lucky they may give it to you for free.

  2. I don't know if they have access to computers in prison. But if they do you could use yahoo messenger it has voice and video. I use it with my sister in Colorado so See can see my kids.

  3. he needs encouragement but he also needs to have privileges taken away because of what ever it is that he did that you dont want to reveal....if he gets all those privileges he will never learn a lesson..

  4. WinXP and Vista come with speech recognition software already installed.  All you'd need is a $10 microphone.  If you're on WinME or earlier, speech recognition software can cost as little as $30.  If you install it on your school's computer (with their permission, of course), you may qualify for a tax deduction.
