I am a strong safety in Football and i need some help?

What do they mean when some body on the defense yells bonus strong or bonus weak? Its supposed to be me saying bonus strong or bonus weak, but i dont know what the term means, help?

  1. Im just guessing based on the system. (I dont know what defense your running) but Im guessing "bonus" is a specified player (linebacker) that is specified by the play you are running. I bet when they say weak you are blitzing weak and strong you are blitzing strong. You are probably supposed to read the coverage decide who should blitz qand cover their flats for them.

    Ask a coach. But Im guessing weak and strong are the side and bonus is the player/defense/or play

    ask a coah though for sure-better to ask and know what you are doing


  2. Well, it depends on what division or district you play for. Different teams use different words to mean different things. I think Bonus strong means that their is an additional WR or RB playing the receiving position on the strong side next to the TE.
