Hi guys, I came here in Australia its been already 1 and half year. I am a student visa. My father was my sponsor. But its so sad that he has passed away couple of months ago. Now I am in trouble with continuing my study. I do a part time job but it doesnt afford me to continue my study and living expenses. besides I am sick. I have got gastritis ulcer. I cant even afford to run my treatment these days which has been stopped in the middle. My father used to bear my all these expenses when he was alive. Now i wanna know if is there any rule in aust immigration to get PR for the students who lost their sponsor or i wonder if they are gonna send me back to my country. My career will be destroyed if now i am gonna have to go back my country. please help me a better and easiest way to get PR shortly because I am totally stuck and cant go anymore in this situation.

  1. where do you come from?

  2. It's tough about your father, but you will have to return to your own country and finish your education there. Your father was obviously reasonably well off and should have left you something to pay for your expenses. If he didn't, why should Australian taxpayers pick up the bill? You're lucky that you've had 18 months here, but there is no 'rule' that will provide you with permanent residency simply because you have lost your sponsor. Australian immigration and PR is restricted to people who are qualified in occupations in which workers are in short supply in Australia and you do not qualify yet.

Australian students don't receive free tertiary education - they incur large debts to pay for it. Their education subsidies come out of Australian taxpayer's (their parent's) pockets.

Australian taxpayers pay for Medicare through their high taxes and it's only available to Australian citizens and people who have legitimately qualified for PR. Australian taxpayers, and I'm one of them, are absolutely fed up with people  looking for handouts whose parents and themselves have never contributed to this country.
