  1. It is best you stay home. Don't take that as being offensive, but rather as responsible.

  2. it would b best if u stayed home 4 the kids sake.It would b the most responsible way 2 handle it cause u have 2 look at it this way if u came 2 work sick u r putting the lil kids in risk of getting sick.

  3. I would imagine that the policy would be like the one for the children...if you have a fever, you cannot come in for 24 hours after the fever has broken (that's when you're contagious).

  4. Yes you will probably be needed

  5. When you work with children....any communicable disease including a contagious cold.....you should stay away from those with the weakest immune systems....including the elderly and children. To clarify at the daycare...they have a health manual. It is mandatory that you review it before beginning work at any centre. It will clearly clarify for you.

  6. yea they really don't want the kids getting sick or they could get in trouble

  7. Hmmmm.... I wonder where you got the cold.....

Of course you probably got it from one of the children. Unfortunately by the time you know you have a cold - it is usually not contagious anymore. If they are giving you sick pay when they send you home sick- then go home- otherwise tell them you got sick from the children and you can't afford to take the time off. (Don't go if you have a fever within the last 24 hours or green stuff coming out of your nose)

  8. :-)  weswe seems to have a bit more realistic answer LOL  But please check with your day care's policies :-)  More often than not you do not have the privilage of sick time in the day care setting.  :-)

If I stayed home everytime I had a cold I wouldn't be there very often... also... if every staff member stayed home because of a cold...then it would be hard to keep the day care staffed.  Because we work with children who are just learning the process of proper procedures that keep sicknesses from spreading...we tend to get sick ourselves every once in awhile.  It's very true that once you have the symptoms...most likely you are not contagious unless you have a fever.  As others have said...you must be free from the fever for 24 hours.

Have a little chat with your director :-)

  9. If your illness was contageos, it could have been deadly to the younglings. To you it is just a "cold" as you people form earth call it. But your imune system is much better then the ones in youth. If the cuaght it, it may be more serious.

May the force be with you.

  10. No they would send you home you can get the kids sick
