I am really puzzled about this and my friend seems to be able to run perfectly fine without any exhaustion.

I am a swimmer and I can swim 3km without being tired, but that turns out really different when I run.. What should I do to improve my running? I have been running alot but I see not much improvement.

Any exercises or such that I can do to improve my running muscles, improve my running stamina or correct any wrong that swimming has done?

  1. What I would give to trade places with you... I can run but I regularly have to to tell the lifeguards to get away from me and that I am not drowning during triathlons...

Running has to be a part of your life. You can't go out and run a couple of kilometers at a nice easy pace and expect to see results. People will tell you so many things that you have to do to be a better runner. If you are trying to get into your groove, there are only 4 things you need to do.

    1. Run a set distance in a certain time.

    2. Run that distance in a shorter amount of time.

    3. Run a further distance in a shorter amount of time than you did in the original distance.

    4. Repeat.

Stretch stretch stretch!! Once you start seeing results, start running hills and doing track work outs. I see a lot better results when I train with other people.

  2. Its normal, a survey said that many swimmers would rather swim a mile that walk one. You use different muscles and your technique may be a little off. So just keep practicing. Try different ways of running. its always a little different for everybody. Breathe regularly. Something that always helps me is looking up at the sky in front of me. My friends say it looks really silly sometimes but it helps me. Experiment with different things. ya never know
