  1. for motor skills, macaroni necklaces.  In my preschool class, we cut out dinosaur pictures,( front and back photocopied), let the kids color, then teachers stapled, glued all together with an opening at the bottom.  Kids tore and crumpled newspaper and stuffed the body to make it " poofy" and then we hung from string on ceiling.  That was one of their favorites.  Also, memory game from pics they know like pics of their mom, their pet, etc to get them more interested in recognition and memory skills.

  2. what types of disabilities do they have as this will affect what they are able to do

  3. For younger childen-I like apple trees

    precut a trunk and top-

    glue together

rip up green and red tissue paper

    scrunch up into balls

glue on to top of tree for a 3D effect-

good for sensory, fine motor skills

    make a catepillar

    use plain paper plates

decorate each plate differently-crayons, stickers, paint, cotton, tissue paper, felt, etc...

  4. Fingerpainting

(Thumprint, handprint or finger print to make cute animals or use different colors to make rainbows)

Use craft sticks to make animals using feathers, pipe cleaners and "googly eyes"

Tearing colored tissue paper (or you can use precut tissue paper) and having them rolling it into a ball to fill in a coloring page or something that is outlined

Find alphabet templates and have the students, for example, glue gold glitter on the letters "Gg", Glue beans on letters "Bb", peas on the letters "Pp"...etc

Make mobiles to hang from the classroom

Hope this is a good start!

  5. I enjoy doing collages with my son with Mack Tack clear sticky paper. This way he can simply place items where he wants them to go and we don't have to worry about working glue sticks or modge podge. This is also a great way to make sun catchers.
