  1. When you find the DJ, just let him/her know what the major no-no's are and you should be fine.

  2. Anything playing on Radio Disney.

  3. good luck, (i am 13) all we want is hip-hop. Anything else is stupid 2 us. hip-hop talks about s*x,money, and girls. So strike that

  4. just go to your local store like (walmart) or (k-mart) and get like a kids bop and let the kids have fun or get a vote of what type of music they like? and get the edit version

  5. Call a few of your local radio stations and ask them what the kids who call in are requesting and explain what you are needing it for.  I'm sure they can give you more than enough songs to fill a list that is useable.  Call stations of different genres of music (stations that play hip hop, rock-n-roll, country, etc) and pick some from each so that it keeps the kids entertained.

If the kids are younger, most likely, it will be a dance where the boys will be on one side of the room and the girls willl be on the other, anyway, because they will be too shy to dance in front of their peers; if they are of high school age, anything is possible and their tastes will vary, so try a little mix of everything (...and don't forget to throw in some dance songs from when you were their age...who knows--maybe they will even like it.--LoL)

  6. Depending on how much work you want to do, you could do what one of our teachers did last year.  She asked her classes to bring in CD's with songs they wanted to hear.  They had to have a note with it of what song/songs they wanted off of the CD.  Then she burned them onto one CD to play.  That way, she knew what the songs were and could screen for content.  Also, ask your students what they listen to.  They can give you an idea of some other ideas.  If you have time, make a class project out of examining lyrics.  Most kids are going to be surprised about what some of their songs actually say.
