Well keep the money and wait until you see something you really want. Then buy it or start saving for it.

Just put it in the bank and spent it if you have to.  There are needs and wants.  I don't see how the other guy thinks that a $100 will end up as $29k though... Even if you manage to make 10% a year you won't get $29k after 50yrs and that's not even including inflation...

Buy a down payment on your retirement.  $100 invested now, and ignored for 50 years, will be worth around $29,000.  Add $100 each year, and it will be worth around $250,000.

Save all the money you can get your hands on. If I could go back in time, I wouldn't have spent a dime on anything, but gas for my car. You never know when you might need it in the future...or how about save it for when you need to buy someone else a gift.

You don't need to spend it for the sake of spending it.  Hang onto it until you really want something particular, and then, voila!  You will have the money for it.
