we are both young, sixteen. i know i am not making any life changing choices. we have been friends for a long time and recently we have begun to spend more alone time together. we have established that we like each other, the next step is a relationship. i am curious to other vegan/vegetarians opinions on the matter. think it would be bad?

  1. My husband is a vegetarian-- I am not. . .it's not a big deal.

  2. if you are vegan for "animal rights" purposes and he isn't i could see it being a problem.

  3. Unless you consider your eating habits a religion, I don't see how it should affect things.

  4. I'm a vegan, my husband is an omnivore.  Diet isn't identity.  It's just a part.

  5. it depends on why you are a vegan...if it is for the poor innocent animas of the world being harmed, i think that it wouldnt work out

  6. Is the person trustworthy?  Are they honest?  Are they someone that isn't going to lie and manipulate situations, cause problems?

You already state that your not making a "life changing choices".  So - if you can trust the person and actually have faith in who and what they actually are and the relationship has been one of unbroken trust - shouldn't be a problem.

  7. If you like him, than go for him. It shouldn't matter what he eats, unless it seriously bothers you. It shouldn't. Being vegan, or any kind of vegetarian is about choice.

  8. if it makes you unconfortable it might not be a good idea. but maybe if you speak your truth and tell the nonvegan how you feel about eating animals and why your vegan maybe that person will understand and follow you, but you just can´t force this other person to be vegan.

  9. When a person's diet starts interfering with a relationship, it's time to rethink things.

Don't choose a bf based upon what he eats.   You will miss a lot of opportunities that way

  10. If I were you I would go for it.  My husband and I are both vegan, but when we met each other he was a vegetarian and I was not.

If my husband had decided not to date me because I was not a vegetarian, we would have never grown to love each other.

In the past year I have become vegan.  Then 2 months ago he went vegan too.  Who knows, maybe you will rub off on him:)

Good luck and I hope you two are happy together:)
