  1. That is really all the manager can do.

How did you find out that it was chicken?

If it is listed on the package it is the consumers responsibility to check it out.

Now if the product was listed as a "vegetarian" product, then you could contact the company that made the product.

  2. I don't see this as actionable.  Financially, with the voucher you have been "made whole."  You didn't suffer any medical expenses, unless you need therapy, which is doubtful.  It wasn't intentional, so a court would be unlikely to award punitive damages.  It would merely be a waste of money, time and effort.  If the manager was sincere in his regret, I'd let it go.  If not, I'd contact his superior.

Then I would do a juice fast!

  3. Depends, do you want to do something about it to stop it happening to anybody else or do you see as just an honest mistake and it probably won't ever happen again.

The co-op has very sound ethical policies regarding the treatment of not only animals but humans too so if it was me I wouldn't say anything because its a decent store which probably had a short lapse in quality control.

  4. Oh No!!!

This type of thing has happened to me several times and I always feel sick for days afterwards!

Once I was given chicken curry instead of veg at an Indian resturant and ate beef once in some "chilli sauce" in Mexico.

If I were you I'd take the voucher and also write a formal letter to Co-op letting them know how this mistake has made you feel. Co-op are a pretty ethical company and might offer further compensation.

    Good luck!

  5. Don't bother, it's not like it was poisoness or something.

  6. No!  Hire some ambulance chasing scum bag lawyer and sue for all they are worth.  Then the lawyer will own the place and he might honor your 10 pound note.  What ever happened to "Mistakes Happen" and "I am Sorry" ???

  7. be happy that they offered you something, no point in pursuing this, spend your tenner on some tequila

  8. wow.  i hope it was just an honest mistake, and hwile you could of gotten really sick, hopefully you didn't... i would leave it as it is but i probably wouldn't even want to eat there again.
