  1. Yes - you are designed by nature to digest animal protein.  Vegetarianism is fun, but have a hamburger.

  2. Why do you want to eat fish again?

Is it to improve your brain performance?

Well yes, there is other food capable of improving brain performance. Omega3 is found in some soy milks, and you should be able to find a lot of food fortified with omega3, like bread sometimes is. Walnuts also contain omega3

But it might not be omega3 that you're lacking. If you don't get enough iron, then your brain can become lazy and not work. Try to add more legumes/tofu/spinach/mock meats into your diet. They are high in iron. And eating more walnuts would be good for you as well.

  3. Fish do not have Omega 3 naturally occurring in their bodies- they get it by eating certain types of Algae. Same as cow's milk is loaded with calcium because cow's eat greens... the calcium originates in the greens... the omega 3 originates in the algae.

There are blue algae supplements one can take... but if you eat flax seeds and/or flax oil, walnuts, and dark leafy greens- you will get your omegas. Many soymilks (Eden brand is my favorite) have them in as well.

Blueberries are also very good for the brain- point:

If you eat a balance of vegetables, fruits, *WHOLE* grains, nuts, seeds, beans, legumes and other plant based whole foods- You will have everything you need for your brain and your body :D

  4. there are lots of foods, like eggs, margarine, and juices, supplemented with omega-3. you can also take omega-3 supplements daily. blue berries are supposed to be good for the brain too.

  5. There is an old legend that fish is somehow "brain food." This is not true. However, if you start eating fish and/or meat of any kind, you will be improving the quality of your diet, and it may perk up your mental functions simply because it will improve your general health.

And no, you won't have any problem digesting animal proteins. 100,000 years of evolution has set your GI tract up for that.

  6. Vegetarian Society's information sheet on Omega 3 fats -

  7. Yes, omega 3 are like brain food, your memory will improve too.
