  1. My Dad used to use boric acid and he lived in a roach infested bldg his last apt. I never saw a roach in his place.  They are some nasty little boogers. Perhaps spray initially with some raid and then put the boric acid in places where it can't be accessed by your kids if any. like along the walls behind stuff. good luck

  2. if you dont want to hire an exterminator.. Try going to like walmart and getting roach killing bombs.. If you dont know about them. Just ask an employee that works in the department.

  3. They probably came in from someone else's unit.  The fastest and most reliable way to get rid of them is call in an exterminator.  Get two or three bids before you hire one.

  4. The people that gave you boric acid is right.  I want to give you more to go with that.  Go to your local hardware store and ask them for the foam that you can seal all of your outlets.  You take the cover off and fill all the sides of the outlet.  It will expand and you just shave off the excess.  It will look like styrofoam.  That will prevent them from coming in there.  Do the same under the sinks where the pipes come in.  Get the gel type of pest killer.  Spray that anywhere the walls are not sealed and under the sinks.  Use the bombs as directed.  Do NOT use them as "more is better".  It isn't.

  5. Boric acid sprinkled behind the fridge, around the dishwasher, up against baseboards, even in cabinets will get rid of them.

If you have them really bad, like if you see dozens of them scatter whenever you turn on the lights in the kitchen at night, then call a professional.

Ways to keep from getting more of them is to not leave food or crumbs out on the counter.  That only attracts them.

You can get them from sacks of potatoes from the grocery store, cardbaord boxes and even dry dog food too.  They can live off of just about anything.

Obviously, if you have small children or pets who can get into the boric acid, then you need to call the professional first.  They have other ways of putting out 'bait' to kill them off that a child can't get in to.

  6. if yoru a very clean person then they probably came from a neighbours! try going to the store and getting a bomb. if you odnt know what im talking about just ask an employee~ theyll help you. good luck hun

  7. Yep, all the people before me that said the other units is correct.  My husband and I moved into a city apartment in 1985...when I got up there were roaches in my kitchen everywhere!  We hadn't even completely moved in yet...ICK!!!  The complex sprayed every month but it didn't work.  My neighbors had 6 cats...came to find out... and we never got rid of them...we stayed 6 months and then OUT!  I couldn't take it anymore.

Good luck.  Maybe you'll be able to get rid of them...  You know, its a proven fact that the only thing that will survive a nuclear holocaust is roaches and Cher... LOL!
