  1. You need to talk to some debt managemnt professionals who can advise on the best course of action for your unique circumstances.

Theis review site will give you the three est to choose from

  2. You need to sell the house, and use the proceeds to purchase or rent one that is within your means.

You can also lower your discretionary spending, or increase your income. If you really want to keep a house that is above your current means, you may have to take a second job in order to keep it.

  3. You can also try your state health & welfare office.  They may have some programs that can assist someone in your situation with other expenses so that you have more money to pay your mortgage.  It's a place to start, anyway.

  4. Not many details here, so I'm forced to grasp at straws...

If you have a VA loan, there are possibilities. Depending on your servicer (some are just AWFUL), VA may need to be brought in to get them to "behave" and cooperate.

If you've fallen behind payments on a conventional or FHA mortgage and simply need to catch up (and you can make your normal mortgage payments going forward), well... that's what I do.

Also, because you are a veteran (I'm hoping you can locate your DD-214 quickly), there are some organizations that SPECIFICALLY help veterans- meaning: FINANCIAL assistance.

Depending on what state you're in, I'd have to look up my contacts and see if I can connect you with someone in your area.

It's unclear whether your situation is temporary or permanent... lots of specifics to get into.

The good news is that there are more options available now than ever before. And, if you do things right and get in touch with the right contacts, you may very well be able to fix this with little-to-no up-front funds to your lender.

If you need help, and you want someone working for YOU, not the lender, send an e-mail to r.michon at my site:
