I am a yahoogroups moderator. There is an error on our sign-up page. Who can I speak to for help?

When we were set up, the option for hiding one's e-mail address was selected. Since anyone who doesn't leave an e-mail is automatically rejected, this is a major hassle. Who can I talk with ( phone, preferable) to get this changed??

Is there a general contact phone number??

Blessings,

Frank Taylor

  1. I can give you the help form, but it wont help. some one enabled that selection for that group and it's not reversible. I belong to to a group that 'accidently' this was also the case, so we send out a file that explains this to pending members, and if they choose to hide their e-mail, they will be rejected. that same file goes out upon rejected members as well.

if you're not a paying user of yahoo (yahoo being your ISP) there is no phone number for non paying  users. yahoo is not my ISP provider either.  if you call a yahoo phone number, they'll direct you right smack back to the web and right to where you asked your question. yahoo phone service is only for those who use them for their ISP, so I never bother with it or offer it.

you'd think they'd be able to reverse the hiding of e-mails or a closed group- yahoo claims they cant.

so when creating a new group is just not an option, you have to consider options you can do to compensate.

we send out a file to pending members- asking that they not hide their address and if they do we'll reject them. some sites regardless have files go out requesting certain info prior to membership approval and that seems to work for a group I moderate.

sorry, but that's really all the options there is
