one is a Avalanche "Crest" 163

the other is a Triple Nickel "examo ____" 163

both are 130$

originally the crest was 200$ and the nickel 230$

the crest seems to be more popular online. i realize these are both off brands... any help would be great thanks.

  1. dear can't decide,

first and foremost...I would have to agree with the other answer that you have, it was a great answer.  the 163 is a big board...one that you might regret later down the road...unless you are taller than 6'1" and 250lbs.

second, avalanche is actually a really good brand, they were the second brand on the market to come out with a true twin board in their D series boards and use quality building materials in their sticks.  i have actually never heard of the Triple Nickel in my 20 years of riding so I couldn't give you advice on that one...

third, everyone has their own opinion, I myself prefer Ride, Rome, M3, Dinosaurs Will Die...so on and so forth.  If the price is what is grabbing you...check ebay or sites like thehouse.com, boardsforless.com, things of that nature, I bet you could get something you really want for the same price, just shop around.

fourth, here is a link below to a great website to help determine size/weight and riding style and how to get the best board for you...

I hope this helps, and that you have great riding...have fun!!!

  2. My friend John has an Avalanche "Crest" and he absolutely loves it i live up here in Tahoe City in Northern California theres alot of snow and he has told me that he likes his snow board alot i would probably go with the Avalanche considering that you said its more popular online and than my friend loves his. Afterall that is 2 sources that like that snow board and none to the Nickle. Hope this works :)

  3. Unless you are going to ride in deep powder or are very tall, I wouldn't go with either one.  I'm 6'1 and my deep powder board is a 159 and my park board is a 156.
