Angelina Jolie has inspired me. I want to adopt a child from a country that is unheard of, at least where I live. A place that is foreign. I listed the countries that I want to adopt from the most but please if you have any other suggestions please list them! Have a terrific day!

Tuvalu

Nauru

Palau

Liechtenstein

Saint Kitts & Nevis

Marshall Islands

Antigua & Barbuda

Djibouti

Boise Idaho

  1. The good old United States.  There are plenty of children here that would love to wake up to a real mom and dad. Don't get me wrong there are children all over the world up for adoption but could you just feel how a foster child feels when they see a child from a different country with cool parents and just wonder what is wrong with them that no one will thake a chance with them,. Think you the children in your own back yard.

  2. Palau or Marshall Islands.. maybe I am biased because I live in the South Pacific... Best wishes!

  3. USA

  4. usa, africa, china

  5. There is this country called the United States of America that has many children in of loving and caring parents.

  6. Sorry but are you adopting to be like a celebrity or so you can have an exotic "pet" to show off... cuz that is totally how it is coming off.

Research adoption, listen to adoptees talk about their experiences, join a group for adoptive parents and those trying to adopt and please don't adopt just so you can have a pretty 'lil one to brag about and make you feel like a star.

Foster to adopt within your own country would be the "best" route to take... not that I am sensing you are interested in what would be best for anyone but yourself.

  7. Hovv about here in the US, there are so many children in your ovvn country that are suffering and need homes, vvhy not adopt one from here?

  8. Why don't you check out India?  My boyfriend was actually adopted from India...They  have many children, and I heard that they have a lot of babies coming over to the US by the end of this year.

  9. Well heres a little Angelina Jolie fun fact for YOU...

Adoptions from the Heart, one of the agencies Angelina used has quite a shady past.

Head on over to http://www.adoptionagencyratings.com and do a search for their name, and check out their reviews.

Heres another fact about them, that agency is facilitated by Preet Mandir. Run a google for "preet mandir" and see how many child trafficking cases come up for him.

What you may or may not ALSO find is that preet mandir had their license revoked after a special corruption show was run on them on TV, but that hasn't stopped them from staying in the business.

Don't believe everything you've read in the paper or may have seen on TV. Its not always what it seems to be. While she may be "glorifying" adoption in your eyes, I bet she hasn't taught you about what it takes to raise an adoptee, heck, she may not even know herself because she probably has hired help raising her kids a lot of the time. A lot more goes into an adoption than a beautiful exotic homeland country of the adoptee.

The director of Adoptions from the Heart is making over 200,000 dollars a year and that doesn't include the benefit package.

So when you ask where you should adopt from, I say foster care. There are thousands of children in the foster care system who really need a home. Then you won't be taking chances like Angelina Jolie did of adopting a stolen child.

  10. watch out for those children from boise. you get a child raised on a potato diet and before you know it you've got...

  11. How about the USA.  Oh and BTW, Boise Idaho is not a country.

  12. it does not realy matters where the child is from at long as you love them`

  13. You had me going until I read the last place you want to adopt from.  Even I've heard of Boise Idaho.

Adopt from home.  It's far too expensive to adopt from overseas.

  14. I sincerely doubt you would be able to adopt a child from Liechtenstein.  It is a fairly wealthy European country, which probably does not have an international adoption program.  The Marshall Islands have a program, so that might be a possibility.  Boise, Idaho is in the United States.

If you want to adopt a child from a country where there are thousands of orphans living in extreme poverty, try Haiti or Lesotho or India.

  15. Boise Idaho if you're an American.

If you're not going to do a domestic adoption (really, lots of kids need homes!) go with China.

They have streamlined the process of adopting a baby to the point where adoptions run like clockwork.

You could get your own little Chinese girl.  They're so beautiful!

I don't even know where those other places are.

    Good luck.

  16. PUKE PUKE PUKE PUKE..........................Keep reflecting on gershoms answer. She seems to talk sense.

Dont adopt at all. Wait until you have matured

  17. Right on with the girl who posted ahead of me.  We got too many kids here without parents etc.  Just like they say "buy American" for cars and stuff, the same should go with adopting.  Just a thought.  But if you go foreign, go with an Italian baby...cuz everyone loves an Italian! :D

  18. Adoption of any kind is not to be taken lightly, but being inspired by a movie star is NOT the reason to adopt from overseas.

Do you know anything about any of these countries you've listed (well, except Boise, Idaho)?  Do you understand anything about the political climate, the challenges, the culture?  Or are you just picking countries off the top of your head?  Of the ones listed, offhand, I know that for sure the Marshall Islands have an adoption program, but do any of the other ones?

If you are serious about wanting to do this, do your homework.  If you want to adopt, do it for the right reasons.

  19. The United States of America.  We have many, many children that are in need of a good home.

  20. La La Land

  21. Out of all the countries you listed, I would say to definitely consider Boise, Idaho.  The best thing about international adoption is that you get to travel and experience life in your child's native culture.  Perhaps you could even learn to speak some of the language there.
