How do I get rid of my fear of driving a two wheeler? How do I get rid of fear of accidents? Is that I just be bold and ignore this fear? I am afraid some vehicle comes and hit me. I am afraid I may go and hit some vechile. I am not new to driving. I drive well. How do other people handle this type of fear? Do they keep strong faith in God and accept the reality?

  1. the best thing you can do is get rid of your two wheeler and get a car......to tell you the truth i would be afraid of driving a two wheeler where theres traffic because you cant trust everyone driving....you can get rid of the fear by just getting use to it but it can always be dangerous

  2. Hide under your bed in fear....that doesn't sound like much fun.

Find a riding course. Pay for some track time. If you learn the limits of your bike you will be more confidant in normal day to day situations.

You can stop doing what you are doing or you can do something about it.

  3. Get yourself an F-350. You will destroy anything you happen to hit.

  4. You just have to trust people driving.

And if you follow the rules set to you then you should be good.

Figure out a path that is safest and easier to get around on.

Remember everything happens for a reason or at least that

is what I think. Most likely you won't hit a vehicle if you're a good driver like you said. And you just have to be bold and conquer that fear. Trust is all you have to have with yourself and the drivers around you.

  5. If you ride a bicycle, then choose other quieter routes, like bike trails for example, or residential streets which are less busy. I did this when I cycled to work during busier times.

All you can do is to be very aware of the fact that you will get the worst of it if you crash into a vehicle. Watch the sun's position in the sky. If it is in the oncoming driver's eyes, then they may not see you. Drivers forget to look for cyclists and motorcycle riders too. Make sure you see them, watch their front wheels, and make sure they see you too!

We all have to try to survive each trip we take, whether a short one, or a long one, whether we are driving a vehicle or walking/riding a bike, etc.

The reality is that you must take charge of your own life and keep "safety" in mind whenever in crowded areas, whether you are on foot or riding a bike/motorcycle or driving a vehicle. Anything can happen at any time, so THINK AND RIDE! THINK AND WALK! THINK AND DRIVE!

  6. Two wheeler riding is indeed a hazardous option where you have no cover and are thereby exposed to accidents. Nervousness is natural, especially when large trucks or buses speed past you or come from the opposite direction at high speeds. While it is true that an accident may occur not at your fault but because of the fault of the other vehicle, I would still emphasise that you stick to safe riding rules. Remember that a majority of drivers on Indian roads are notorious for flouting traffic rules. Besides, pedestrians and sometimes animals come in the way unawares. That means that you should be all the more cautious while riding. Never forget to wear your helmet.

Keeping these in mind, ride as often as you can. Choose a speed at which you feel comfortable and are confident that you are in total control of your two wheeler. Never try to overtake a vehicle if you are not confident. Allow others, even fellow bikers, to overtake you if you feel that riding at higher speed is uncomfortable for you. Gradually, you will synchronise yourself with your two wheeler. It will automatically respond to your subtle commands at crunch situations. You will gain in confidence and lose your fear. As you and your two wheeler gradually get in sync with each other, riding will be a pleasurable experience. But never tempt yourself to ride under conditions in which you lose control of your two wheeler. Riding regularly, following these golden rules will make you more confident. Happy riding.

  7. You just shut the door and sit tightly on the chair!!!

  8. You see, our brain is like a huge computer. Our senses provide input from the outside world, and our brain provides with our physical and emotional reactions.

These reactions are carried on the neural pathways. When a neural pathway becomes blocked or defected, an irrational or unwanted reaction is created in our brain.

Often this reaction is a symptom of a phobia we have, a phobia made by our defected neural pathways which if you can just remember that nothing is going to happen, then you will be able to drive and overcome this fear, everyone will face this in their life at some time.

  9. I had an accident on May 12th.  I was hurt in it and my car was totaled.  I now am ok and I have a new car.  But I'm very afraid of driving.  I have to drive 30-45 minutes one way to work and same distance back after work going home.  I haven't a clue as to how to get over your fear of accidents.  All I have to say is obey the rules yourself and don't worry so much about the other drivers.  I have seen so many motorcyclists not obeying the rules of the road, and zipping in and out of traffic like they have the rights to do so.  Just be safe and everyone else will be also.
