  1. You cant beat japanese technology for economy and reliability. I would recommend Nissan Micra or Toyota Corolla.

You should be able to find either of these in decent condition for under £1000.

  2. toyota and hondas seem to be good.  Be sure when buying a used car to get it checked by a mechanic first.

  3. Emma you cannot really get a meaningful answer without stating what your budget is to be, suggest you hit the edit bar and add what figure you want to spend.

  4. Prism or Honda anything with good gas mileaage.

  5. 90's hondas and toyotas.  Good on gas, last forever, cheap to repair.  I had a 91 camry for 6 years, was still running fine @ 250k miles,  also had a corolla, same thing.  Had to start the thing w/ a hammer by the end of it but still ran:)

  6. go to Edmunds.com but for a small car get a Honda civic, they're reliable.

  7. 98 Acura CL

    98 Ford Mustang V6

    98 Honda Accord or Civic

    98 Nissan Frontier or Pathfinder

    98 Subaru Impreza or Legacy

98-00 Toyota Corolla or Echo 00

  8. Go with a Toyota.

  9. Chevrolet Cavalier~ dirt cheap and never die.

Ford Ranger 2.3 liter rear wheel drive~ mine gets between 32 and 34 on the highway (I take it easy and never floor it or do other stupid things) Its cheap and very, very reliable.

1980's VW Rabbit Diesel~ reliable and great fuel economy (Much cheaper to drive than a gas engine)

Ford Escort~ ugly, cheap, reliable great mpg

Toyotas and Hondas are way overpriced, parts are expensive, they don't get amazing mpgs and they break down more frequently than their owners admit. As for someone stating that they had over 200,000 on their Toyota. Big deal, if you maintain your vehicle any car can get that. My old Explorer had 250,000 miles on it, everything including the 4 wheel drive still worked and I never had to repair anything other than regular maintenance. I still see it driving around town from time to time. My buddy's Ford F350 Diesel has over 400,000 miles on it and still tows like a champ. Take care of a vehicle and it'll last forever. I have a friend with a Silverado diesel that has over 550,000 on it, its still his daily driver.

  10. It was proven by scientists that the most well and cheapest little cars around at the moement are volkswagon golfs/polo and hyundai getz

  11. Honda civic has the best track record for longevity
