  1. Freud had a theory that we subconsciously  misplace  items to avoid doing certain things .... like car keys cos we don't really want to make a journey..... or a purse cos you don't really want to spend the money ...

  2. HAY EAE !! I see this is your first day and first question on Y/A...Welcome to the paranormal section! Hope you'll stay on here and ask lots more questions. Hope you like it. I don't know how you found it so quickly (they have it hidden so well!)!!! Sorry we have to be in the same place as Science & Math...but whatcha gonna do??? lol...Gotta take what they dish out to us!!

As for your question. Yes, that has happened to me and lots more people...seems like some more than others. When you're older you can blame it on dementia ,,,or alzheimers...but don't know what you can blame it on being young...I guess lead paint from China!!!! lol (kidding)

EDIT...Sometimes I've thought may we get "blinded" to where things are..that the things don't move at all...it's just our "blindness".

EDIT...also..I've heard people say it's a poltergeist  and others say it's joker spirits.

EDIT..I just saw what "Come on" said...and I agree. I think it's kinda like what I said. Also, I've noticed that if I say OUT LOUD "Where is that (name  what's lost)..that it turns up...much like when he said "God". I've often wondered if they don't hide things just so we'll talk to them._

  3. This is total BS. Are you seriously asking this question?

  4. it could be.  I like many other people in this world never really used to belive, maybe wanted to but didnt really.  Then I met my wife to be.  She has some sort of gift for this thing, talking to the dead as I call it.

when stuff went missing in our house we used to say "dad, put it back" and usually find it somewherewe had already looked, the following day.

we have moved house and stuff keeps going missing, to re-appear the next day and we have been told that it is someone wanting to be recognised as around.

so "talk" to your spirit and ask them to behave.  if its not true you lose nothing, if it is you stop losing your stuff, either way cant hurt, can it

  5. Well, don't omit the possibility that you are having slight memory lapses. Most people remember the important stuff and don't pay attention to the trivial things. I call it "old-timer's disease . . . "

I want to know what happens to the socks in the washer. They go in, and one of them doesn't come out. Bizarre.

  6. T R is quite right...

I think you just have a poor memory

  7. sounds like you are scatty like me, who wants to be perfect anyway ,lol  :)

  8. No, try a few tests...

There will be a logical explanation...

  9. I think most missing things are taken by ghosts.Sometimes it's the Karma spirit ghost teaching us a lesson. Many years ago after a irresponsibly wild night.I woke up in the morning to find my car taken by a the Karma spirit.I eventually found it but it was not where I parked it.

  10. Sure it could be and good for you to not dismiss a possibility based on your beliefs like the YA debunkers on here who apparently feel qualified (they are not) to diagnose you with memory problems and dismiss your experiences without further investigation or question.

People do often misplace objects in their home due to being in a hurry or stress (I have no idea if your experiencing these or not I'm just sharing the information) like not hanging your keys on the hall tree when you come home with hands full of groceries and everyone in the house wants your attention. I once found my keys in the freezer.  Of course items can also be moved my any other member of the house.

Yes, items can fail to be found in purses (and briefcases and wallets) that are found later which suggest that we are simply overlooking these items. I now carry few items in my wallet  and usually find things. Some purses are made with numerous pockets in order to organize the contents inside.

You weren't very specific about your daughter's room like is she a teenager that doesn't want you in her room or borrowing her stuff and might be hiding it or a younger child that doesn't yet have boundary issues.

Of course as I'm sure you already know one should always look for and exhaust all natural explanations for something before considering the paranormal.

I wonder if you slowed down and reduced stress (if this is an issue) and paid particular attention to the cards and any other small things (if there is one object(s) that get lost more than another)  for 7 days if you would notice any difference.

  11. My niece has a lot of trouble like this and I do occassionally.....with me I sometimes ask my husband and he can see it when I can't.

so I know the mind can not see sometimes.

Thanks for the input about God......I have recently asked God to help me.

  12. I would attribute these disappearances to factors you're not conscious of.  Everybody loses things.  None of the disappearances require a paranormal explanation.

  13. There is nothing paranormal about a woman not being able to find something in her purse.  :)

  14. when you look for a specific thing, the chances of "not" finding it get higher.I always experiece the exact same thing you do, and I know, it's maddening at time. The CD/book you look for is lost while allthe other things are there! You may think it's because of your rotoon luck.I'm Iranian moslem and well, I've heard it is jins who hide things to annoy humans and it's surprising because as soon as I say the name of God, I  find what I'm looking for (Jins are afraid of God), but I personally think that when you want to find something, you simply can't because your mind is disturbed! I say it's because of distraction.Have you ever experienced this? When something is right in front of you, you may not notice t, but you see all the other things.Strange huh? I say it's because of the way our brain analyses information.More likely, sometimes the brain pays no attention to the things that can be seen so easily. The only explanation i can give for why I can find the lost things when I murmer God's name is that thinking of God, calms you down and gives you self-assurance, so that you can concentrate better and thus notice things.

  15. Your Daughter's hiding them.
