  1. Well go to a doctor and get a prescription first. Of course, as you are an American, you will have to pay for the appointment. I'm not sure about obtaining Xanax easily at clinics as medication is obtained at pharmacies not at clinics.

As for this mistaken idea that marijuana is legal in Canada please be advised that it is not legal in Canada. There was a movement afoot to decriminalize possession of marijuana but it never came to pass. That means that if you are caught with any amount of pot, you will be charged. The only exception to that would be if you had a genuine medical reason but you would have some kind of documentation to support that argument.

In the meantime, if you need a prescription, go to a doctor, pay for the visit, take your prescription (if there is one) to a drug store and get it filled there. Yes, you will have to pay for your drugs, just like Canadians do. Finally, pot is not legal. At all.

  2. pot is not legal in Canada

and to get a script you need to see a doctor and prove you are currently taking that medication. You will have to pay for the doctors visit and the medication

  3. If you do not already have a prescription for Xanex, you need to go to a doctor in Canada and get the prescription.  It isnt "easy", your doctor will need to know you need it for a medical reason rather than something to get high on.  If you have a prescription from the USA a call or letter from your doctor in the USA to the doctor in Canada you go to will help.

Contrary to what has been posted marajuana IS legal in Canada, with permission for some medical reasons.  There are certain medical conditions that Health Canada has deemed it acceptable for.  You need special medical permission to have it (and is not easy to get) and you always need to keep a letter with you from your doctor/Health Canada showing you can legally posess the marajuana.  Otherwise, for everyone else it is illegal.

    From the Health Canada site:

Health Canada grants access to marihuana for medical use to those who are suffering from grave and debilitating illnesses. It is important to note that the   Marihuana Medical Access Regulations deal exclusively with the medical use of marihuana. They do not address the issue of legalizing marihuana for general consumption.
