  1. He can't get benefits, in Canada,  for a child that is a US Resident, living in Michigan .  Can't be done.

    Jim B. Toronto.

  2. He can get subsidy for daycare, as long as he is considered low income. Otherwise, he will have to pay like everyone else. He can apply for a Child Tax Credit, but it will not be much, as Baby does not reside with him full time. Plus it will depend on the nationality of Baby. If Baby is an American, he will not be able to access subsidy, nor Child Tax Credit, as Baby is not a citizen. Generally the forms are given to at Baby's birth for CTC, but he can find them on Government web pages. Also, it does depend on which province he resides, as all provinces have different ways of going about things. For daycare subsidy, he can contact a daycare direct, and they will give him the forms or numbers where he can call to apply.
