i can apply for my british passport as i have the right to have one however the research i have done is indicating that it is very hard to bring a turkish man as your husband to uk. it seem that the process is very hit or miss and as there is a signifigant age difference between us i am afriad it will be frowned on. is it easier to do as a resident of uk but not a citizen ?

  1. Going on what you are saying I am assuming you are claiming British citizenship through descent, so one of your parents was born in the UK before 1983? or you were born before 1983 in the UK? As the right to British citizenship is not automatic after 1983 and can not be claimed through grandparents.

So before you start trying to live in the UK  you need to sort out your own legal status within the UK. As Turkey is not part of the EU (thankfully) he would have to get a visa. But if you go as an American you would need a visa for the UK, so deal with one step at a time. And see if you have the right to citizenship first.

  2. Lol, you can bring just about anyone to England..

    They let anyone in nowadays.

You may not remember, but a ship of immigrants headed for Australia, where asked what they could offer the country, because the answer was nothing, they were told that if they came any closer, they would be fired at.

So you know what happened to the boat? It came here, to England. -_-

  3. I give you my blessing.

  4. As you don't have a British Passport the answer is No.

I can only suggest that if you really want to marry him then you move to Turkey.

  5. The UK definitely isn't fussy.   I just hope you don't want to claim benefits as well - if so, move to Turkey.

  6. Sure, what the h**l.
