Are you disgraced as well? We don't have to stoop that low to get back at a team who is playing dirty all ready. This is the Olympics and what are we showing our kids. Horrible part on the American team for doing this, he deserved what he got. Is anybody else disgraced about this?

  1. What did he do?  I haven't heard about this.

  2. im disgraced that youre such a d**n wuss and giving in to the 'omg lets be super nice about china' bullshit thats infecting this olympic games

  3. You have never played baseball, have you? If a catcher is going to block the plate, in an attempt to block an opposing player from scoring, he can expect a collision. It is the nature of the game and I am sure that their American coach explained this to them.

  4. No dude, I'm not that sensitive.  Lie down with a cold towel over your head and get over it.   Apparently you're an American who has never once played the game of baseball.

  5. The catcher was positioned in such a way as to indicate that there was going to be a play at the plate. The rule is to get away from the plate when there isn't going to be a play so that the runner won't collide with you, both are at risk of injury but injury is  part of the game just like plowing into a catcher at home is to avoid an out and get the run. China is inexperienced in baseball and made a huge mistake that they paid the price for. I bet you won't see them do this again, unfortunately they learned the hard way. Now they need to learn that hitting batters intentionally in the head as retaliation for their own ignorance of the sport and mistake IS NOT PART OF THE GAME. Sorry but welcome to baseball.

You aware of the fact that China had hit 7 US players with pitches in that game. Including the cheap shot in the head at Matt Laporta which resulted in a concusion. Talk about poor sportsmanship.

  6. No!

When you have your pitchers hit six batters on any one team you better have your catchers looking around every time a runner starts towards home plate.

Just a suggestion.  That's just Baseball in my opinion.

To avoid that, the umpire should have been sending pitchers to the locker room, after two or three batters were hit.

If the umpire will not protect them, the team has no choice but to protect themselves, no matter what anybody thinks.
