  1. First you got to make sure, your employer paid social security for you. If they did you need to file an application in Hamburg.

    Standort Hamburg

    Deutsche Rentenversicherung Nord

    Friedrich-Ebert-Damm 245

    22159 Hamburg

    Telefon: 040 5300 - 0

    Telefax: 040 5300 - 2999

    E-Mail: info@drv-nord.de

Verbindungsstelle für Großbritannien, Irland, Kanada und USA

There are also agencies that do all this for you for a fee (I used to work for one), but if you know some German you should do it yourself.

    EDIT-----

Actually, the German American chamber won't be of any help. I worked at the branch in Atlanta, so I know. Since you owned ur own firm, did you pay urslef or ur husband a salary and took out social security? Do you have a German social security number? If you never paid into the fund, you are not elegible for German pension.
