I don't know if they changed the rule to enter and leave Mexico, does anyone know about this? I will be visiting family there and also celebrating the new year, that's why I hope the rule will not take effect, if there is one, by 2008.

  1. if you need a passport and dont have one, you probably wont be able to go because it takes months to get a passport. it depends on where in mexico you plan on going.

  2. You'll need a passport to get back in to the USA. Anybody can leave, its the coming back in thats hard and you got to prove.

  3. You MUST have a passport to FLY to and from mexico.  Passports are NOT required to travel to and from Mexico by LAND or SEA until after SUMMER 2008.  See website below and read top half of the page carefully for the CURRENT info.

  4. Yes..everyone needs a passport to leave the country now..

  5. The new rules went into effect in January 2007.  While I believe you may be able to get into Mexico without a passport, you won't be able to re-enter the US without one.  This goes for any international travel EXCEPT for US protectorates (US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, etc).

You can get rush delivery on a passport and get one in about 3 weeks, but expect to pay some extra money for it.

  6. hallo,

the rules say that you need passport in both cases on entering and on leaving Mexico.

  7. You now need a passport to fly betwen the USA and Mexico.

You will need a passport ot return via to the USA via land or sea by 2008, but not until mid-year.
