I have looked up tons and tons of information, even on their government website. I have paid money to the Irish consulate for their information line and they have not answered my calls. It says if you do not have to have a transit visa, you don't have to have a student visa but I am worried that once I get there, I will be stopped at point of entry and refused to be let in the state. Also if I do need a student visa, is there anyone that has done this before and knows what to do. I have a love for Ireland and its country, along with its people so this is very important to me. There is so much information on the web you can't believe what the websites tell you. I am in desperate need of this information. I will be studying for 1 year total or so.(if I can.)

  1. A good source of information about being a student in another country is the International Student Adviser at a college or university.  These advisers deal with immigration and other student oriented problems constantly, and although they mainly deal with students from other countries coming here, they also often have experience with US students going overseas.
