  1. You cannot get citizenship any earlier. It takes at least 5 years from USA and Europe. From India it is currently taking up to 9 years .

Processing for India is currently taking 6 years in the skilled worker category. You cannot expedite your application. You stay in the queue along with all the other thousands of Indians who want to move to Canada.

Then after you arrive in Canada, you MUST live in Canada for 3 years before you can apply for citizenship.

Please also note that if you DO apply for Canadian citizenship, you WILL LOSE your Indian citizenship because INDIA does NOT allow Dual Citizenship.

  2. Well, you don't get citizenship by marriage per se - you become a permanent resident, and then after a period of good behaviour and demonstrating strong ties to Canada you can take the oath.

If you were to marry, current wait times are about 6-12 months. The same applies for any family-class sponsorship if you have family in Canada who are eligible to sponsor you.

Otherwise, a basic PR application seems to take about 5 years for approval (if you get approved), then figure in another 18+ months after PR status to get citizenship.

If you began today, I'd say about 7 years.

  3. Aren't some indians native to Canada?
