Couple of years ago, I visited South Africa (Johannesburg) for 2 days in my way to Swaziland. A nice country, modern, reminded me of the USA. However, it feels dangerous, and sorry to say that, it still feels a little bit raciest.

Don't misunderstand me, I really love South Africa, and Nilson Mandela is my hero. I only hope to see it getting really better.

I visited there on business several years ago.  Spent time in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Cape Town, and Swaziland.  It is a very beautiful country and I felt safe there (at least as safe as I feel in some of the larger cities of the US).  (I am from the US).
